Obituary of Daris Junior Reed

Daris Junior Reed passed away at his home in Mecosta, Michigan on Friday, April 16, 2021, at the age of 72 years.

Daris J. Reed was born on September 25, 1948, in Millertown, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Nellie (Smith) Reed. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Bea and Sue, his children William (Jake) Reed, Jeff (Amber) Reed, Dundi Harless, John Reed, Ralph Reed, Elizabeth Reed and Aliana Reed; numerous grand children and great-grandchildren. Daris was predeceased by four of his siblings: Joe, Anna, Betty, and Erma. 

Daris worked for 58 years in the oil industry. Over the years he had many great friendships. He enjoyed sharing stories over the years of his experiences across the United States and abroad. 

In retirement Daris enjoyed keeping busy with his family and working on projects around his property. He was a family oriented man, his children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Anytime spent with them was cherished. 

In accordance to Daris’s wishes, cremation will take place with no service to follow. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
