Obituary of John “Jack” Mackin

John "Jack" Mackin, age 98, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021. Jack was born January 17, 1923 to Parents William Mackin and Kathryn Kelly in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

Upon completion of high school, Jack joined the Army and served our country in WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the tank division in Germany. He then went on to work for Comerica Bank, formerly known as Manufacturer's Bank, where he managed the Trust Department and retired as an Officer of Comerica Bank after thirty five years of service. Jack was married to his wife, Kay, for 40 years. He lovingly welcomed Kay's son, Victor, as his own and grew to be an amazing stepfather. Jack was a devout Catholic, a faithful servant and gave of his time and money often. He will be remembered most for being a loyal husband to Kay, a loving stepfather, grandfather, and for his love of Norte Dame football. 

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, William Mackin and Kathryn Kelly; brothers, Raymond Mackin and William Mackin; and sister in law, Teresa Mackin. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Kay; sister, Marilyn Coll (Pete); sister in law, Regina Mackin; stepson, Victor (Vicki) O'Bezil; grandchildren, Alex and Katherine O'Bezil; and numerous nieces and nephews.
