Obituary of Elwood "Woody" Wilcox

Elwood “Woody” Wilcox, our fun-loving father, grandfather, and friend, passed away November 08, 2017, at the Laurels of Mount Pleasant, at the age of 71. A casual celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, November 18th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, MI.

Woody was an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman. He lived for the days he spent on various trout streams. Woody loved making others smile, and his humorous ways always kept friends and family laughing. He was a great cook, both in the kitchen and in the great outdoors. A devoted father, caring friend, and loving grandfather, Woody’s family and friends meant everything to him.

His wonderful sense of humor and great mustache will be greatly missed by his daughter, Julie (Ryan) Smith; grandchildren, Emily Smith, Marcus Foltz, Trevor Smith, Wyatt Smith, Jacob Snitchler, and Ryan Smith II; special friends, Don and Deb Negus, Jackie and Chuck Turek, Ben, Annette, and Jackson Turek, John and Barb Fox, and Hazel Peavey. He kept a special place in his heart for the love of his life, Kim Toler, and Heather Young, who was like a daughter to Woody.
