Obituary of Truman A Hinton

Hinton, Truman A. age 81 of Kentwood, Michigan, went to meet his Lord the morning of January 24th, 2018. Truman was born in Mecosta County and spent his early years in Nahma, Michigan in the upper peninsula. Later, his family moved to a farm outside of Remus, Michigan, where he lived most of his adult life. He was

preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Suzanne (Sue) Hinton.

 

Truman spent 15 years in the building trades in the Chicago area. He also worked for 7 years as a substitute mail carrier for the US Postal Service at the Barryton Post Office, and retired as Chief of Maintenance of Chippewa Hills school system in 1998 after 27 years.

 

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Marilyn Hinton, his son Scott (Kristi) Hinton, daughters Tamara (Lee) Swafford and Stacey (Faeren) Madza, stepchildren Mindy (Induny) Solano, Brian (Patty) White, Grandchildren, Crystal, Scotty, Christopher, Katherine, Nathan, Shayna, Cole, Afa, Hakeem, Colin, Kayla and Michael and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by grandson, Jason. A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church at 6951 Hanna Lake Ave Caledonia, MI on Thursday, February 1st at 11:00 AM. A light lunch will be provided after the service.
