Obituary of Dee Felix Younger

D. Felix Younger, age 83 of Mecosta, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. Cremation will take place with no service to follow.

Felix was born May 15, 1935, the son of Talmadge and Florida (Powell) Younger. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Younger; daughter, Angela Robinson Younger, and son-in-law, Thomas Troy Robinson.

He had a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central State University, Ohio, a master’s degree in social work from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio, and a master’s degree in Education from Wayne State University, Detroit. Felix worked at the Juvenile Court in Ann Arbor, and was director of human services for Lake and Mason counties before retiring in 2002. He was also the deputy director of God’s Helping Hands, and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus.

Felix enjoyed hiking, fishing, and writing short stories and poems. Known to be a proper gentleman, his warm smile and caring ways will be missed by many.
