Obituary of David J. Gort

David J. Gort, age 71 of Mecosta, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at his home.

David was born November 18, 1946, the son of Frank and Gertrude (Moomey) Gort. He grew to be quite the storyteller, and always had a great sense of humor. An avid outdoorsman, David kept busy hunting and fishing. He enjoyed competing in fishing tournaments, and riding motorcycle in his younger years.

Dave will be greatly missed by his children, Dave (Barb) Gort, Laurie (Thad) Johnson, Dennis (Susan) Gort, Debbie (Bruce) Hoyt, and Dustine Gort; sister, Dixie Monje, brothers, Wally (Janet) and Dan (Joann) Gort, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 35 years, Ellen, and brother-in-law, Larry Monje.
