Obituary of Bonnie E Letson

Bonnie E. Letson, our loving mother, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the age of 84. A memorial service will be held in her honor Tuesday, June 19^th, at 2:00 PM, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, with Pastor Greg Buchner officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. 

Bonnie was born June 9, 1934, the daughter of Burt and Ila (Deckator) Karcher. She was a wonderful homemaker, always caring for family and friends, making sure everyone had a full stomach and a happy heart. She was a very selfless person and often found ways to donate her time and talents to help her community. She and her husband, Melvin, were members of New Hope United Methodist Church and would often help with their swiss steak dinners, as well as volunteer at God’s Helping Hands in Remus. Bonnie enjoyed working in her garden, relaxing in the sun, and more than anything, spending time with her grandchildren. She was an excellent baker and always had plenty of sweet treats waiting for her family when they would visit. She was a great housekeeper as well, always taking great pride in her and Melvin’s home. When she was able, Bonnie would walk miles in a day, just to be outside.

Caring, nurturing, spunky, and a bit feisty were all words used to describe Bonnie. 

Her kind and gentle ways will be greatly missed by her sons, Melvin Jr. (Kelly), and Allen Letson; brothers, Dale and Rant; sisters, Alice, Gladys, and Glenna; grandchildren, Chance, Sharina, and Joshua, and six great-grandchildren. 

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Melvin, by only three days; brother, Billy, and sister, Onely.
