Obituary of Robert Leo Reihl

Robert Leo Reihl of Blanchard, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 15, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born April 12, 1936, in Beal City, Michigan, to John and Mary Reihl, he was the youngest of ten. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. When he returned home he met his future bride, Patty Getchell. They married August 29, 1959. After moving to Blanchard from Beal City, Bob and Pat raised thirteen children, seven girls and six boys. Bob attended Beal City Schools until the eighth grade. He left grade school to begin his lifelong passion of working in the logging industry. He did so for over fifty years. Logging was his

chosen career, which he truly enjoyed. Bob was a very ambitious man, and was a stranger to no one. A highlight of every year for Bob, was Christmas Eve, a place where “Santa” was always present. Bob is survived by his wife, of 59 wonderful years, Pat. And his children; John (Pat) Reihl, Jeanette (Dan) Bambach, Steve Reihl, Lori (Keith) Neeb, Bob (Amy) Reihl, Patty (Carl) Kirkland, Lisa Sackett, Jerry (Lori) Reihl, Theresa (Rocky) Fisher, Teri (Jeff) Price, Kim (Kaleb) Vinzaht, his sister, Theresa Maeder, and his several grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Chris and Mike Reihl.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus, Friday, August 17^th, at 11:00 AM, with Father Tom Boufford officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Friday morning from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
