Obituary of Mark Allen Buskirk

Mark Allen Buskirk, our fun-loving husband, son, father, and brother, passed away late Sunday night, October 7, 2018, at Woodland Hospice in Mount Pleasant. He was 45 years old. 

A funeral service will be held in his honor Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, with Pastor Aaron Hadley officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM to the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Day Township Cemetery in McBride, with a luncheon to follow at McBride Twp. Hall.

Mark was born August 9, 1973, the son of Charles and Linda (Pline) Buskirk. He married the love of his life, Barbara Persyn, on August 23, 2003, and the two grew their family to include four children. A long-time vendor at the Big Rapids Farmer’s Market, Mark had a passion for farming. He also enjoyed time spent in the U.P., hunting, and most of all, his family. Family was always a priority to Mark; and every night he, Barbara, and their children, would make it a point to sit around the dinner table and enjoy a meal together. 

Those who knew Mark best described him as hardworking, trustworthy, funny, and honest. 

His cheerful memory will be cherished by his wife of 15 years, Barbara Buskirk; father, Charles Buskirk; children, Devon, Hunter, Blake, and Markette Buskirk, and brothers, Theodore and Bradley Buskirk.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Buskirk.
