Obituary of Riese Trevor Higgins

Riese Trevor Higgins, our beautiful son, brother, boyfriend, and grandson, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, October 11, 2018. He was 24 years old. A service to celebrate his vibrant life will be held Tuesday, October 16^th, at 1:00 PM, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus. Pastor Richard Taylor will officiate with burial to follow in Wambolt cemetery in Remus. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15^th, from 2:00 PM-4:00PM, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, and again on Tuesday morning from 11:00 AM to the time of service. 

Riese was born June 13, 1994, in Big Rapids, MI, the son of Jennifer Bailor and Justin Higgins. He was a 2012 graduate of Chippewa Hills High School, had a Bachelor’s Degree from CMU, and was currently continuing his education there to obtain a Master of Psychology Degree. Riese’s huge heart and compassion for the disabled led him to work for McBride Quality Care, Greenville Optimist Camp, and Seiter Education Center where he was currently employed. 

Loving, kind, smart, and helpful were all words used to describe Riese. He loved spending time with his family and girlfriend, Morgan, playing games with his grandpa Bailor, and of course, rooting for the Green Bay Packers. His innate knowledge of sports allowed him to carry on a conversation with anyone about any team or player.   

Riese’s joyful and loving ways will be so deeply missed by his parents, Jennifer (Matt) McCall and Justin Higgins; brother, Daulton Higgins; sisters, Allyssia McCall and Marissa McCall; girlfriend, Morgan McCarty; his grandma and grandpa Bailor; his Nana Higgins, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Higgins. 

Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Greenville Optimist Camp, which was very dear to Riese’s heart. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
