Obituary of Dorothy Maxine Lake

Dorothy Maxine Lake, age 96 passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Mt. Pleasant.  Services will be held on Thursday, October 18^that 10:00 AM at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus with Pastor Charles Richardson officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 17^thfrom 3:00 – 7:00 PM.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery – Pine River in Alma.

Dorothy was born on January 5, 1922 in Alma, the daughter of Robert  and Grace (Hale) Buchler, Sr.  She worked as the Supervisor of Food Services at the Utica Community Schools for 28 years.  She was a devout Baptist and belonged to the Chippewa Hills Baptist Church in Remus.  She was a “prim and proper” lady.  She enjoyed golf, RV’ing, reading, crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting and even learned to play the organ.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry (Joyce) Lake, Linda (Carl) Medlin, Wayne, Sr. (Betty) Lake; brother, Robert Buchler, Jr.; sister, Verneda Allen; brother-in-law, Elburn Baccocini; sister-in-law, Bonnie Buchler; 4 grandchildren, David Lake, Wayne Lake, Jennifer Sobczak, and Bryan Lake and 8 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, Travis, Clarysse, Cameron, Caleb, Ethan, and Lily Lake.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Lake; grandson, Michael Lake and granddaughter, Jacqueline Lake.
