Obituary of Peggy Jean Peacock
Peggy Jean Peacock, our hilarious and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away October 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. A Memorial Mass will be held Tues., October 23rdat 4:00 PM, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus, with Father Tom Boufford as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 2-4 PM on Tuesday.
Peggy was born in Grand Rapids, on February 22, 1938, the daughter of Albert Lake and Gwendolyn Alma (Baragar) Manshum. A caregiver through and through, Peggy worked as a nurse for many years before owning and operating adult foster care homes with her husband, Bob. Aside from caring for others, Peggy enjoyed trips to the casino, painting her Christmas village pieces, making jewelry, and knitting. She was famous for her handmade knit washcloths, which everyone in Mecosta and surrounding counties owned at least one of. Though she had many hobbies and interests, spending time with her grandbabies was always her favorite. Funny, positive, feisty, and amazing, were all words used to describe Peggy.
Her strong hands and gentle heart will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert Peacock; children, Carol (Joe) Clack, Cheryl (Jim) Davis, Kathy (Perry) Morsey, Robert (Rita) Clark, Tod Clark, Jean (Darla) Clark, Holly (Dave) Miller, Peggy Sue (Gerry) Gulick, Jodi (Darin) Nelson, Stacy (Mike) Cavendish, and Heather (Chris) Barnes; siblings, Charlotte, Dutch, Roger, Roberta, Dewey, Dick, and Al; 45 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Everil, Andy, and Mary Jane Manshum.
Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Angels of Action, or to St. Michael Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
