Obituary of Dale Lloyd Benkert

Dale Lloyd Benkert, age 58 of Mecosta, passed away October 21, 2018 at his home.  A funeral service will be held on Thurs., October 25^that 11:00 AM at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating.  Visitation will be held Wed., October 24^that the funeral home from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  Burial will follow in East Fork Twp. Cemetery.

Dale was born on June 7, 1960, in Lakeview, MI, the son of Lloyd E. and Letha M. (Moore) Benkert.  

Dale was described as being extremely kind; he would do anything for anyone, and once in his heart, you were always there.  He was very supportive of his family, enjoying all the events his grandchildren participated in.  He was known to be happy and always enjoyed a good laugh.  Dale was very much an outdoorsman, and could either be found outside riding his tractor or cutting wood.  He fixed many cars for friends and family (always free of charge), and enjoyed his current position working for Mid Michigan Auto Body Parts. He loved hunting, especially at his Mom’s in Barryton, and enjoyed being involved in Barryton Days, which was something he always looked forward to.  

Those left to cherish Dale’s memory are his mother, Letha Benkert; son, Jordan Benkert; step-children, Shelli (Tony) Schroeder, Josh (Lena) Archer, Melissa Archer, Lori Bush, and Cindi Johnson; grandchildren, Lilly Archer, Kaleb Schroeder, Isabel Schroeder, and Bianca Schilling; and one brother, Dan Benkert.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd E. Benkert and his grandparents.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sylvester Community Church.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
