Cheryl Tasker

Obituary of Cheryl Arlene Tasker

Cheryl Arlene Tasker, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away December 26, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. A memorial service is being planned for the spring.

Cheryl was born October 17, 1945, the daughter of Charles and Myra (Pate) Smith. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Ferris State University, and owned and operated Tasker’s Pharmacy in Remus with her husband Larry for many years. She took great pride in the pharmacy, turning it into much more than just a pharmacy. From movies to Hallmark cards, and everything in-between, Cheryl made it an enjoyable place to shop.

She had many hobbies and interests including gardening, fishing, downhill skiing, trips to Colorado, basking in the sun, reading, cooking, and dancing (which she wasn’t the greatest at). She had a wonderful sense of humor, and almost no filter. You always knew where you stood with her, and her children would often have to “Shush” her in public. She belonged to a bowling league, which she enjoyed very much. And she was THE biggest animal lover, donating to various animal rescue organizations. Cheryl was a spitfire that lived on coffee and good times. Her family meant the world to her, and she would do anything for them (even if that meant lying to a police officer to keep one of her children out of trouble).

Left to cherish her vibrant memory are her husband of 49 years, Larry Tasker; children, Jeffrey Tasker, Ryan Tasker, and Courtney Tasker; grandson, Jakob Tasker, and grandson, Adam Tasker- on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Shannon; granddaughter, Paige; brother, Richard, and sisters, Sylvia and Charlene.

Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to God’s Helping Hands.
