Obituary of Orville Edward VanCuren

Orville Edward VanCuren, 84, of Remus, Michigan, passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family on January 23, 2019.

Orville is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joann (Homak), sons Chuck (Pam) VanCuren, and Ron (Katy) VanCuren, daughters Deb (Pete) Gross, Sandy (Bill) Stadtfeld, and Sue (Jeff) Garrett, sister Elinor (Larry) Nicholas, 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rachel (Nostrant) VanCuren, 4 sisters, and 1 brother. Orville was a loving father, husband, Papa, and friend to everyone.

Orville loved the outdoors and hunting. He spent many summers camping and fishing up north with his family. He retired from Evart Products after 29 years as a Union Steward. He spent his days with his wife and family and his evenings watching westerns. Orville was a quiet, gentle man with a great laugh. His smile would light up the room and everyone in it. He was a hardworking man and was always there with a helping hand.

Visitation will be from 2p.m.- 7p.m. at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, Michigan on Sunday, January 27, 2019. A Rosary will be held at 6:30p.m. Funeral services for Orville will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11a.m. Visitation will take place starting at 10a.m. until the time of service.
