Obituary of Bruce Michael Forintos

Bruce Michael Forintos, age 71, died unexpectedly at home in Canadian Lakes on Monday, January 28, 2019. Bruce was born in Detroit, MI in 1947 to John and Elizabeth Forintos, and grew up in Lincoln Park, MI. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School and Sacred Heart Major Seminary, earned his M.A. from the University of Detroit and his PhD from the University of Michigan. During his professional career he held administrative positions at The University of Michigan–Dearborn, The University of Northern Iowa, and Ferris State University. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose (Regan) Whom he married in 1973, and a son, David Regan (Hayley), and grandchildren, Jaxx, Adalynn, and Adrian. 

He is also survived by brothers, Brian (Rita), Rev. Bradley, Barry (Janet), Brent (Allison), and Blaine (Anne Marie) and sister, Cynthia Walkuski (Michael), as well as many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. 

Bruce enjoyed model-railroading, collecting antique fountain pens, fishing with his brothers, Brian and Brad, good scotch and smoking a pipe. He had a good sense of humor and was a deeply spiritual person. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, February 2^nd, at 12:00 PM, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus with Fathers Bradley Forintos and Tom Boufford as Celebrants. Visitation will take place at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus on Friday evening, February 1^st, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Scripture Service at 6:00 PM), and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM to the time of service at church.
