Obituary of Lloyd Lon Hardiman

Obituary for Lloyd L. Hardiman, Sr.

Lloyd Lon Hardiman Sr. was born June 30^th, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI to Theodore and Beatrice (Bannister) Hardiman. He lived his younger years with his grandfather, Luke Bannister, in Sparta, MI until he was drafted into the US Army in August 1942 and served in World War II.

After honorable discharge from the military, he married Bernice Todd, in July 1949.  To this union, four surviving children were born:  Cindy Irene Cummings, Mary Jane Sims, Karen Doreen Conley, and Lloyd Lon Hardiman Jr.

Lloyd was a stranger to no one and made many friends along his life’s journey.  He was proud of  his career in road construction and worked for several organizations including Spartan Asphalt, Hicks Company, and Reith and Riley.  He also owned his own construction company for a short period of time.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Bernice, daughters Cindy, Mary, Karen, and son Lloyd Jr., sisters:  Joan Hunt and Sharon DeVealt, brothers:  Perry Hardiman and Gary Hardiman, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents: Theodore Hardiman, Beatrice (Bannister) Hardiman, and Frances (Bradley) Hardiman, Siblings:  Mary Jane Weekly, Theodore “Bud” Hardiman, Loretta Hill, Leonard Hardiman, Dwayne Hardiman, and Robert  Hardiman.

Memorial services will be held on March 16^th, 2019 at Janowicz Funeral home located at 469 Wheatland Avenue in Remus, Michigan.  The family will receive guest from 10:30 to 11:30.  Memorial Services will be from 11:30 to 12:30 with a luncheon afterward at the Mecosta VFW Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Michigan.
