Obituary of Wendell Paul Roe

Wendell Paul Roe, age 88 of Mecosta, passed away August 9, 2019 at Royal View Assisted Living in Mecosta. 

He was born August 22, 1930 in Barryton, MI, the son of Theo A. and Lila M. (Kirvan) Roe, Sr. Wendell served his county in the United States Army, after being drafted at the age of 18. He later married the love of his life, Shirley, and the two lived in the Muskegon area where he worked for 35 years with General Telephone Company.  He and Shirley spent their retirement years on Merrall Lake, north of Barryton, and were members of the Barryton Methodist Church during that time.  Sadly, Shirley preceded Wendell in death in September of 2018. He had a loving, caring heart, as large as his 6 ft. 4 in. frame, and was always sensitive to other people’s needs.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Faith Bennett, and many nieces and nephews.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and his wife; two brothers, Ted Roe and Allison Roe, and one sister, Betty Jarvis.
