Obituary of Joann VanCuren

Joann (Homak) VanCuren, 75 of Remus, Michigan, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on January 8, 2020.

Joann is survived by her children Deb (Pete) Gross of Mt. Pleasant, Sandy (Bill) Stadtfeld of Mecosta, Chuck (Pam) VanCuren, of Remus, Ron (Katy) VanCuren of Rockford, and Sue (Jeff) Garrett of Lake Isabella. 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters Judy Conn, and Barb Naz, along many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Orville VanCuren on January 23, 2019, parents Phil & Marion Homak, 2 sisters, & 1 brother.

Joann loved spending her summers outdoors enjoying camping, fishing, working with her horses, tending to her flowers, and feeding the birds.

She truly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Visitation Services will be held at Janowicz Family Funeral Home at 469 W Wheatland Ave, Remus, MI 49340 on Sunday January 12, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm with Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm

Services will continue with visitation beginning on Monday January 13, 2020 at 10:00 am until the time of service of 11:00 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church 8929 50^thAvenue, Remus, MI 49340. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Remus, MI. 

A Luncheon will be held immediately after services in the St. Michaels Parish Center.
