Obituary of Virginia Catherine Keefer

Virginia Catherine Keefer, age 89, of Canadian Lakes, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Altercare of Big Rapids. 

Virginia was born August 6, 1930 in Detroit, MI, the daughterof Joseph and Anna Kalandyk. Shemarried the love of herlife, William Keefer, on September 29, 1950, and together the two grew their family to include four children. After working and raising their children in the Detroit area, Virginia and William retired and moved to Canadian Lakes, MI. Virginia was an involved member of the community before moving in to Altercare of Big Rapids, where she spent her last nine years. 

A devout catholic all of her life, Virginia was a dedicated member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus. She was a loving, caring, and outgoing woman, and encompassed all of the traits of a great mother. 

Left to cherish hermemory are her children, Donald Keefer, Marian Farlow,  Cynthia Keefer, and William (Deborah) Keefer; grandchildren, Kimberly Crowdis, Karl Farlow, Leslye Farlow, and eight great-grandchildren.                                                      

Sadly Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, William, and son-in-law, Donald Farlow.
