Obituary of Bernice Laverna Snyder

Bernice “Bun” Laverna (Karcher) Snyder, loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away January 1, 2021 at the Prestige Centre in Mt. Pleasant. She was 85 years old. Visitation will take place at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, MI, Tuesday, January 5^th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. A private service will take place on Wednesday January 6^th, with a private burial to follow in Decker Cemetery. Bun was born February 19, 1935 in the Remus area, the daughter of Glenn and Dora Karcher. She married Keith Duane Snyder and the two grew their family to include five children. She retired from Isabella Bank and Trust in Blanchard in 1991, after 15 years of service. Bun was athletic and competitive. She enjoyed playing horse shoes, fishing, Bible study, cooking, and above all, spending time with her family. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marty (Deborah) Snyder of Remus, SuAnn (Pete) Lowery of Lake, Nick (Amy) Snyder of Remus, Tony (Ronda) Snyder of Remus, and Larry (Jane) Snyder of Remus; siblings, Darlene Howard of Remus, Dick (Elaine) Karcher of Remus, Norma Meeker of Rodney, Robert (Karen) Karcher of Lake Isabella, Larry (Nancy) Karcher of Remus, Carol (Gary) Cox of Blanchard, Sharon Farrell of Blanchard, Alice Karcher of Remus, and Sharlene (Chuck) Hurdle of Niles; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren with two on the way. 

Bun was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Donna (Harry) Howard; brother, Barry Ed Karcher, and brothers-in-law, Harold Howard, James Meeker, and Ronald Farrell.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family to be used for a charity of their choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
