Obituary of Maxwell Allen

Maxwell B. Allen, age 87 of Blanchard, MI passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at his home with family by his side. A visitation will take place Tuesday, January 12^th, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. 

Max was born December 31, 1933, the son of Robert and Lanona (Cooper) Allen. He married the love of his life, Katherine Densmore, in 1955, and the two grew their family to include four children. Sadly, Katherine passed away in 2015. Max worked as a supervisor for General Motors Truck and Bus for 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid bowler at one point in his life, and was an active member of the local Elf Khurafeh Schriners. A great character, Max had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a story to tell. Maybe not a true story, but a story nonetheless. He loved his farm, cutting wood, eating sweets, and spending time with his family.

His many stories will be deeply missed by his children, Kaye (David) Spencer, Stuart (Shelia) Allen, Paul (Nanette) Allen, and Kent (Lorraine) Allen; brother, Richard Allen; sister, Carlotta Mortenson; grandchildren, David, Autumn, Tristan, Ryan, Alyssa, Lucas, Carson, Jennifer and Justine; 12 great-grandchildren; special friends, Charles (Girlie) Dougherty and Ron Whitmer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
