Harold Lapham

Obituary of Harold Junior Lapham

Harold Jr. Lapham, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at his home in Blanchard, Saturday, February 27, 2021, at age 81.   Per his wishes, cremation will take place with a service to follow at a later date.

Harold was born February 18, 1940, the son of Harold S. and Josephine L. (Navarre) Lapham. As a devout Christian, Harold led many men to the Lord through his work in the numerous church men’s clubs he was a part of. The Millbrook Free Methodist Church had been his church for the last 24 years, where he made many lifelong friends who became family. He was a safe place for so many people who needed a listening ear and sound advice. Known as a “Big Teddy Bear”, Harold’s appearance didn’t quite match his gentle and kind nature. His huge heart and caring ways will be so deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Marilyn A. Lapham; eight children, Cindy Lapham of Mt. Pleasant, Harold and Anne Lapham of Sparta, William Lapham of Shepherd, Douglas and Audra Lapham of Edmore, Ryan and Diane Lapham of Bay City, Heather Lapham of Mt. Pleasant, Stacy and Melissa Lapham-Grandy of Mt. Pleasant, and Megan and Steven Skorna of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Janet Lapham of Remus; sister-in-law, Connie Lapham of Perrinton; 22 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; brothers, Robert and Russell, and one stillborn brother.
